Della Ghianda Virtus et Gustus:
A History of Tradition and Innovation
The origins of Della Ghianda Virtus et Gustus are rooted in a fascinating history, which mixes mystery, tradition and a deep connection with the past. It all began when, years ago, an ancient manuscript was found in what was once a noble stable, transformed into a home for servants. It was donated by a descendant of a lineage of coachmen, witness to a cultural heritage that now seemed forgotten.
The manuscript, entitled "raffinato Ordine de’ Conviti e delle Vivande, bears the signature of an enigmatic and fascinating figure: Ermenegildo Pandolfo della Ghianda, Grand Squire and Master of Ceremonies of the nineteenth century.

A man of culture and a fine connoisseur of the art of banquets, Ermenegildo is presumed to have drawn inspiration from the great Renaissance master Cristoforo of Messisbugo, whose works on the management of banquets were considered an unparalleled reference at the time. In an era in which the table was not just a place of refreshment, but the theater of the most important decisions, the banquet had the power to change the fate of kingdoms and families. Peace or war, a marriage between two royals, or even the destinies of entire peoples were often decided during these occasions. In this context, the Grand Master of Ceremonies was not simply an organizer, but a key figure: guardian of diplomacy and invisible strategist. The success of a banquet could guarantee royal favors, seal alliances, or consolidate the power of a family. Ermenegildo fully embodied this role, transforming every banquet into an event of historic significance.
Ermenegildo did not limit himself to preserving the knowledge of the past, but reinterpreted it, enriching it with sensitivity and creativity. Among his most famous creations, the “Ghianda Nera”, an aromatic tonic with regenerating properties, celebrated for its balance of flavors and aromas. This elixir, it is said, was appreciated in the most refined courts and preserved the essence of an era in which conviviality was a sublime art. Today, Della Ghianda Virtus et Gustus is inspired by this extraordinary legacy. Just as Ermenegildo respectfully reinterpreted Messisbugo's knowledge, so we renew with care and passion what the manuscript left us. Our mission is to transform every event into a unique experience, where tradition meets innovation, celebrating taste, elegance and virtue.
